I'm heading to Origins tomorrow.
I'm planning to play Mechwarrior and some magic. I'll update this story each night for added fun.

Played the scrubby match tonight.

Here's my army list:
DF BH MaurauderII
DF Donar
2xMaxim
DF Di Schmidt
DF Di Morgan
4xDF ATV
4xDF Shock Troopers

First round I faced a touch Laio army commanded by Tank Girl. I lost. I could have played better, but I haven't played a serious game in awhile, so we'll count it as a warmup match.

Second round I faced off against a tough BR Persuader army. I know how tough this army is, as I played a variant of it at Nats last year. This is a very tough matchup, but my opponent made some mistakes, including a key one in the mid game. He didn't run his hatchetman away, so I was able to kill it, thus taking a sizeable lead. This was really the end of the game.

Third round I played against a JF army. Hatchetman, Koshi, and a formation drop. He made some mistakes in the opening, allowing me to take an early lead. He missed two easy rolls with his formation drop. He needed an 8 with the first and a 9 with the second. Absolutely brutal. Though honestly, if he had hit with the second shot, I would have run away, and probably still been able to win pretty easily.
